CHILD CARE

KIDZONE

Barry YMCA is dedicated to providing high quality, affordable child care providing family centred, values based programmes to nurture children's healthy development.

Well trained staff provide a safe balanced environment for children, working together with parents to help the children grow up happy, healthy, strong and prepared for the next step towards their education.

Age Appropriate Experiences

YMCA pre-school care builds on children's natural desire to learn new things and become more self reliant. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are a natural part of playing games or learning a new craft. Kidzone is an exciting and challenging place, helping pre-schoolers stretch their skills in mind and body. It is also a safe, comfortable place where children build positive relationships with caring adults.

A Commitment to Childrens Safety and Protection

All Barry YMCA staff and volunteers are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau at an enhanced level. When parents drop off their children at the YMCA , they are entrusting Kidzone with their greatest treasures. YMCA take that responsibility very seriously. We encourage parents to visit at any time and solicit their input and full involvement in ensuring the safety of all children.

Quality Matters

Barry YMCA seek to provide child care that supports and strengthens families and nutures the healthy, successful growth and development of each child involved. Kidzone is endorsed by the Wales Pre-school Play Association quality assurance mark.

Five Essential Ingredients

  1. Positive and healthy relationships
  2. A spacious and appropriate environment
  3. Engaging and diverse activities
  4. Emphasis on safety and health
  5. A highly effective administration

Quality in all five areas of a child care programme leads to an experience for the children and their families that is much more than the sum of its parts. While poor quality programmes may threaten children's development, high quality programmes can pay tremendous dividends - not just for the children and their families, but also for the larger community and the nation as a whole.
